He was my g.g.g. grandfather through his son, Samuel Nelson Chandler. I do have a great deal of information on the Norwood line. Actually have more on that line than the Chandlers. This research was given to me by Mr. Ray Chandler, Winnfield, LA. It shows Eleanor's father as Alexander McIntosh Norwood, son of John Norwood & Mary Warren. John Norwood was a captain in the Revolution. There is a wonderful book entitled "Capt. John Norwood and Mary Warren Norwood", by Mrs. John W. Norwood, Jr. & Charles S. Norwood published in 1979, Hilburn Printing Corp., Goldsboro, NC. It gives a tremendous amount of information about the Norwood line that has been traced back to Jordanus deSheppy (of the North Woods, hence the name Norwood) in the year 1066. There is a picture of the English manor house (Leckhampton Court) of William Norwood (our direct line ancestor b. 1545) in Gloucester, England near the town of Cheltenham. According to the book the ancient manor house is still in the Norwood family! There are also pictures of William Norwood and a picture of his tombstone. It really is a wonderful book and would be well worth trying to find a copy of it! I will email you privately with gedcom files of my Chandler & Norwood lines. Would love to get your info also. Thanks for responding, Peggy
