Hi, Chandler researchers... I am trying to find information about William Henry Chandler, who was born around 1830. This approximate year of of birth is corroborated by the Manhattan City Clerk's entry regarding William Chandler's marriage to Flora M. Campbell on September 28, 1854. This ledger entry also records William Chandler's place of birth as New York. William Chandler died in 1863. According to his death certificate, he was born in Connecticut. William Chandler and Flora Campbell had the following children: Susan (1856-1881, married Cornelius Huff); Maria Louisa (1860-1911, married Jacob Van Tassel Cobb); and Sarah Malvina (1861-1949, married William Henry Hurley). William Chandler may have been the son of William Henry Chander and Susan Bassett, but we have been unable to corroborate this information, which came from an "investigator" who did not supply any hard evidence for the information (ie., no birth record, no marriage record, etc.).
