My primary contact/resource person is Peter Chamberlin - ref. GenForum Chamberlin posting, dated 23 Mar 2002, by Peter Chamberlin [Email: pac03278@yahoo.com ], & response by me, dated 24 Mar 2002, providing discussion of various possibilities for the parents/lineage of this William Chamberlin. Since then, we carried on considerable Email correspondence, exchanged GEDCOM files, and so forth, which includes sources & documentation. So I do have confirmation, based on family & Bible records, of William Hatch Chamberlin's birth, parents and ancestry. Born 1 Apr 1845, Sharon, Windsor Co., VT, d. 24 Sep 1930, perhaps Chelsea, Orange Co., VT, he was the 3rd of 4 children of Asahel(7) Chamberlin, b. 7 Dec 1784, Strafford, Orange Co., VT, d. 9 Jul 1869, Sharon, VT, and his 2nd wife, Martha Strong, b. 4 Jun 1810, Plainfield, NH, d. 21 Aug 1902, married 6 Apr 1838, Sharon! , VT (Asahel's 1st wife was Sophia Corkins). Ancestral line of descent: Asahel(7), Amasa(6), William(5) Jr., William(4), Joseph(3), William(2), Henry(1) Chamberlin of Hingham & Hull, MA, the oldest and most prolific of the original five New England Chamberlain/lin immigrant ancestors in the early 1600s. William Hatch Chamberlin had 4 children by each of his 2 wives, and I have listed here an extensive lineage on down to the present day for one of these children, Curtis Asahel Chamberlin, ancestor of Peter Chamberlin. Yes, William H. is the individual you have listed in the 1850 Census, and I too have been unable to locate him in the 1880 Census. Please contact me via Email if you wish additional information. I am also curious to learn more details about the family of your own grgrgrandmother, William H.'s sister, you said.
