Mr. Parker, Thank you so much for your fast and informative response! I do have a couple of things on the Chamberlains that I would be more than happy to share. One is a copy of the death notice of Oliver Chamberlain that ran in the Cambridge Garland newspaper on Friday, August 5, 1892. It is long and has quite a bit of personal information. It also states that he and Clarissa Baccus had 13 children, and that as of Aug. 5th 1892 only 7 were alive. I also have copys of several letters written to Isadora Chamberlain (my great great grandmother), from various relatives. And an obituary of A.P. Chamberlain - Isadora's brother, dated Nov. 11, 1917, and the newspaper article on his murder Thursday, Nov. 1, 1917. (He was killed by his brother Dr. A. W. Chamberlin) I have Isadora's death notice, and Caroline Chamberlin's death notice. I also have pictures of Isadora Chamberlain and her husband Sebastian Rubar, who wintered in with 31 others and helped found the town of Cambridge Iowa. Sebastian is buried in founders cemetery, land that he gave to the town while he was living, and they built a cemetery on for the founders. And the death notice of Sebastian and Isadora's only son, Charles Rubar. If you are interested in any of these, please let me know. I will be more than happy to share. All the best! So, we've been at this Chamberlain genealogy business for several generations now, and have amassed considerable information. Please let me if you have any particular questions concerning the Society and its collections. You can read about the WCGS at its homepage on the Internet: . Regarding the Chamberlain/lin family of of Scioto Co., OH and Story Co., IA that you asked about, I do have a rather nice lineage here in my research records, with contributions from several persons, presumably your cousins, and from various census records and other sources. According to my records, Oliver (7) Chamberlin and Clarissa Baccus were married, 2 Jan 1838, Scioto Co., OH, with 10 children listed for them between c1839 & c1862, including 6 of the names you listed, in this order: Isadora H., Andre Charles, Alva, Alphonso, Anson (who died young), & Isabel, and 4 you didn't mention: Olive, Delila, Alonzo & Caroline, (the first 3 died young). I have some descendants listed for Andre Charles, who married Martha M. Bullock, and for Alva, who married Lavina Bard/Barbe, but not the others. Oliver(7) Chamberlin, b. c1815, Vernon Twp., Scioto Co., OH, moved to Cambridge, Story Co., IA with his family about 1857, and died sometime after 1880, prob. Union, Story IA. Cl! arissa Baccus was born c1820, OH, to parents who were natives of PA, but I know nothing else about her. Oliver(7) is believed to be the 2nd of 10 children of Anson(6) Chamberlin, b. 27 Feb 1782, Weathersfield, Windsor Co., VT, d. 27 Dec 1862, Scioto Co., OH, and his first wife, Mary Montgomery, 6 Jan 1793, PA, d. 6 Jul 1852, Scioto Co., Co., whom he married 29 Mar 1814, Scioto Co., OH. It is not altogether proven that they were his parents, but 4 of his children are buried near them in the little private Chamberlin Cemetery in Porter Twp., Scioto Co., OH. I have records of the cemetery location and gravestone inscriptions here, if you need them, together with considerable other detailed information about Anson, his family, and his ancestors & other relatives. The ancestral line of descent is Oliver(7), Anson(6), Oliver(5), Benjamin(4), Joseph(3), William(2), Henry(1) Chamberlin of Hingham & Hull, MA, the oldest of the 5 original Chamberlain immigrant ancesters in New En! gland in the early 1600s. Please contact me via Email if you have any further questions about this family and its ancestry, with or information you wish to share with me for our records.
