Hi everyone, I have just started researching my husband's paternal ancestry. According to family notes, the family progenitor was Joseph Chamberlin of Colchester, Connecticut, 1600's. By the mid-1800's, some of Joseph's descendants moved to Wisconsin. The most recent generations are: Ephraim R. Chamberlin, wed Betsey Dinmick or Dimmick, October 25, 1812; died December 12, 1864; their son: John W. Chamberlin, born December 17, 1839; wed Sylvia A. Smith, October 10, 1858; died December 9, 1897. Their son: Charles Chamberlin, born May 23, 1863; wed Rosetta Craig in Marshfield, WI, July 16, 1882; died March 5, 1934. Their son: Harold Chamberlin, born March 1, 1899; wed Olive Tinker, died, March 5, 1963. I believe Ephraim was the son of Jacob Chamberlin who was born in Dalton, Massachusetts. Jacob was the son of Joseph Chamberlin, IV; however, the family notes are not too clear for this particular generation; and, Ephraim may have been the son of a Benjamin Chamberlin. I have names, residences, occupations and ages of deaths for the generations of Joseph Chamberlin of Colchester, Conn. He is said to have been born in Wales, 1653, came to America with two of his brothers, settled in Colchester, Connecticut, lived to age 97 and had the following children, all born in Colchester, Conn.: William, Freedom, Joseph, Benjamin, John and two daughters. My problem is that the information for the first several generations are from notes left by an unknown person that were found in an old family bible; so, I don't know how accurate they are. Anyone else on the list researching this line? Thanks. Hope
