He was married 12 Sep 1802, Thetford, Orange Co., VT, which might suggest his origins there, but several of his children, beginning Oct. 7, 1803, were born in Barton Twp., Orleans Co., VT, so obviously he was living there at that time. He appears in Census indices in Irasburg, Orleans Co., in 1820, together with George (probably his son), and then in 1830-50, but not before this time. There is a Clark Chamberlin listed in 1830 in Irasburgh, who might be related together with Samuel in Barton; Edmund & Samuel are listed in Barton in 1820, who might be related - I've not identified any of these 3 persons. Also, I do not have Orleans Co. Census listings before 1820, which would be helpful. There are several other Erastus Chamberlain/lins in my research files, listed in VT of this approximate age, but they have been traced. Erastus' death record has not been located, which, togeth! er with land & probate records (not yet made available), might reveal more. Dorcas died 11 Oct 1865, Coventry, Orleans Co., VT. Additional research is evidently required.
