    1. [CHAMBERLIN] Re: Clara Louise Duplin Chamberlin
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AUI.2ACIB/158.1 Message Board Post: I've also reviewed your GenForum LePage posting (I don't see any GenForum Chamberlin postings), dated 17 Nov 2000, which lists Clara's birthdate as 28 Aug 1871, and her first husband as Ulric Jerry Duplin of Wotton, Canada. It also says that Clara's other husband was Joseph Chamberlin "of Massachusetts" (does this mean he was a resident of MA at the time of his marriage, or what), whom she married 1 Jun 1910 (where, what is the source for this information?). I see that Milford, Penobscot Co., ME, where Clara was born, is just across the Penobscot River from the city of Old Town, and not very far north of Bangor. Chamberlain/lins are listed in these locations in my 1850-1860 Census listings, as well as many other locations through Penobscot County. But there is just one family listed in 1860 in Milford, that of Pete Chamberlin, p. 087, who might well be the father of Joseph, I would suppose. I have not identified this Peter Chamberlin. It would be worth your effort to o! btain the actual Census data for 1860, 1870, 1880, etc. (which I don't have here), for these families in these locations, to see if a Joseph Chamberlin appears as a child anywhere (though you evidently don't know his exact age). Do keep in mind, that many French Canadians with the name of Chamberland (sometimes later changed to Chamberlin or Chamberlain), settled throughout Maine. Joseph Chamberland is a fairly common name in Quebec, and LePage is also a French name there, from what I can see. Please contact me via Email if you have additional information to share, or if you wish to discuss this information.
