Desire Thompson moved to Michigan as a child. Her family can be found in a book called Early Michigan Pioneers. Her Father Daniel Thompson is listed in there are the Sheriff and as friends with Andrew Jackson. It also credits him as opening up Gratiot Ave and Michigan Ave. Candis
