    2. Marge Dulin
    3. This is a shot in the dark, but here goes. I am looking for the place and date of death of Elisha Spencer Chamberlain. I have much other information about his life, but not this. He was b. 1815 in Otsego Co, NY, probably son of Heman Chamberlain and Tabitha Spencer. During his life he lived in NY, WI, MO, MN, and CA that I am sure of, and in that order. There may have been other states stuck in there somewhere I haven't discovered yet. He was last heard from (at least my last shred of info about him) in 1885 in Fortuna, Mendocino Co., CA. He left MN for CA in 1871. Since he was not with either of his sons at the time of his death, I'm thinking he may still have been in CA where his daughter lived in Humboldt Co. If any of this rings any bells, I'd love to swap information. Marge Dulin __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! 1. Ephraim Chamberlin/Betsy Dimmick
    2. Hope Chamberlain
    3. Hi everyone, I'm trying to determine who the parents were of my Ephraim Chamberlain who wed a Betsy Dimmick in 1812, according to the old family bible. Betsy Dimmick was the daughter of Jeduthan Dimmick and Marcy Chamberlain so presumably, Betsy and Ephraim were cousins. Ephraim and Betsy's son, John W. Chamberlain, born in 1838 in Connecticut, was my husband's 3rd great grandfather. He wed Sylvia Smith. Typewritten notes in the family bible indicate that this line is 'of' Joseph Chamberlain 'of' Hadley Massachusetts, who wed Mercy Dickinson and whose father, William Chamberlain, was the son of Henry Chamberlain of 1595 and wife, Jane. The notes also indicate that Ephraim was 'of' Dalton, Massachusetts and that his father was either a Jacob Chamberlin or a Benjamin Chamberlin; I can't tell which, as there's no dates in the notes. Any help in resolving the 'mystery' of parentage of Ephraim Chamberlain or his mother-in-law, Marcy Chamberlain, would be greatly appreciated. This family also has a history of changing the spelling of their last name from Chamberlin to Chamberlain and vice versa.

    3. Hi Everyone, I discovered this morning that my computer was infected with a worm that is attached to a file called C:\Cool/Progs/Pretty Park.exe. I personally have not sent any emails; however, it appears that the worm got into my address book and as this email address is in my book, it seems likely that you have been sent the worm as well. DO NOT OPEN ANY EMAIL THAT IS SENT USING MY EMAIL ADDRESS THAT HAS AN ATTACHMENT TO IT. I sincerely apologize for any problems or incoveniences this has caused. The worm apparently got in between the ending of my trial version of the Norton Anti-Virus program last night, and the purchased version I installed this morning. Regrets Hope Chamberlain

    3. Hi everyone, Just wanted to follow up to the response to my last query regarding Chamberlins of Colchester, Connecticut. As I believe I indicated, I don't know how accurate the year and place of birth is for Joseph Chamberlin; the notes indicate year of birth 1653; however, as I don't know who took the notes and placed them in the old Chamberlin Bible, I don't know if it's accurate or not. The notes list the following as the children and grandchildren of Joseph Chamberlin: Children: William, born in Colchester, a farmer, died at age 60 Freedom, born in Colchester, a farmer, died at age 60 Joseph II, born in Colchester, a farmer, died at age 56 Benjamin I, born in Colchester, a farmer, died at age 64 John, I, born in Colchester, a farmer, died at age 52 Two daughters, names not listed. Grandchildren: Children of William: Pelig, William, John, Nathaniel, Ebinezer, Joel, and six daughters Children of Freedom: Freedom, Annos, and two daughters Children of Joseph: Joseph III, Job and two daughters Children of Benjamin: Wyatt, Oliver, Elijah, Benjamin II, one daughter Children of John: John III, Eliphalet, Joseph, IV, Benjamin III, Elisha, and five daughters. If I'm reading the notes correctly, Joseph the IV had children, Martin, Jacob, Cad, Dan and five daughters. Jacob lived in Dalton, Massachusetts and was a farmer and manufacturer. His children included an Ephraim Chamberlin; presumably 'my' Ephraim Chamberlain, father of John W. Chamberlin. If anyone on the list can verify or refudiate the above, please contact me. Hope

    3. Hi everyone, I have just started researching my husband's paternal ancestry. According to family notes, the family progenitor was Joseph Chamberlin of Colchester, Connecticut, 1600's. By the mid-1800's, some of Joseph's descendants moved to Wisconsin. The most recent generations are: Ephraim R. Chamberlin, wed Betsey Dinmick or Dimmick, October 25, 1812; died December 12, 1864; their son: John W. Chamberlin, born December 17, 1839; wed Sylvia A. Smith, October 10, 1858; died December 9, 1897. Their son: Charles Chamberlin, born May 23, 1863; wed Rosetta Craig in Marshfield, WI, July 16, 1882; died March 5, 1934. Their son: Harold Chamberlin, born March 1, 1899; wed Olive Tinker, died, March 5, 1963. I believe Ephraim was the son of Jacob Chamberlin who was born in Dalton, Massachusetts. Jacob was the son of Joseph Chamberlin, IV; however, the family notes are not too clear for this particular generation; and, Ephraim may have been the son of a Benjamin Chamberlin. I have names, residences, occupations and ages of deaths for the generations of Joseph Chamberlin of Colchester, Conn. He is said to have been born in Wales, 1653, came to America with two of his brothers, settled in Colchester, Connecticut, lived to age 97 and had the following children, all born in Colchester, Conn.: William, Freedom, Joseph, Benjamin, John and two daughters. My problem is that the information for the first several generations are from notes left by an unknown person that were found in an old family bible; so, I don't know how accurate they are. Anyone else on the list researching this line? Thanks. Hope
