Ref. Glenora Chamberlin's 3 Nov 1999 GenForum posting, and my Email correspondence with her in April 2000. This individual named "De" is Margaret Odelia Gosser, b. 17 May 1886, NE, d. Feb 1975, Stayton, Marion Co., OR, who was married 1st), 1906, in Eola, Polk Co., OR, to Jesse William Chamberlin, b. 3 Jul 1883, d. 2 Jan 1917, prob. Lyons, Marion Co., OR, with 2 children listed for them. She married 2nd) 1918, at Stayton, Jesse's brother, Benjamin Harrison Chamberlin, b. Nov. 1888, NE, d. after 1930, with 3 children listed for them. Their father was Mahlon/Malcolm W. Chamberlin, b. 21 Mar 1856, IL, who married Sarah Mosley, with 5 children listed. Mahlon/Malcolm is one of 12 children of Lorenzo D(ow?) Chamberlin, b. 1810, NY, d. 11 May 1889, Western, Saline Co., NE, who married, 26 Mar 1833, in Jackson Co., ! MO, Susan (-?-) Wilcher/Welcher, b. 3 Mar 1813, NY, d. 22 Sep 1879. This Lorenzo's ancestry has not yet been traced, but it has been the subject of my recent Email correspondence with Virginia Weiss, and he has often been confused with another Lorenzo Dow, also born 1810 in New England, for your information. Please contact me via Email if you wish to discuss this family in greater detail.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AUI.2ACIB/250.1 Message Board Post: I have some answers. De Chamberlin was my husband's grandmother, De was short for Odelia. She lived in Polk, Linn and Marion Co's after arriving in OR, but most of the time in West Stayton farming. The Snoddy family were also farmers in the area. Keith Bones used to work for us, not sure if that's his family. Other names sound familiar. But with De and the Snoddys both there, and the time period, it must have come from the West Stayton area. I'll see if I can find who more of them were. Glenora Chamberlin
