Hi Everybody.. Well we have a new project under way. This was Fay's idea! Huh Fay? LOL.... Anyway I think it is a good one. Here's the deal. I have started a "Family Group Sheet" project for our web page. This is something that not only will help all of us, but others out there researching as well. Below you will find the instructions for submitting your Choctaw family group sheets. They will be searchable by a Surname Index page. Each persons name and e-mail address will be on each group sheet as the submitter. Making it easy to make contact with others searching your family line. You may need to print this message out to have the instructions in front of you. Or they are on the sample page. which is linked "from" the home page. If you would like to view the sample page, visit: http://freepages.cultures.rootsweb.com/~choctaw/blankfg.htm These online pages will be in the large format to make it easier for the ones who have trouble reading web pages due to their eye sight. BUT... at the top of each page there will be a link to the "text" file, which you can click your mouse on to view, and PRINT it out. ******************************************************************* Instructions to submit your Family Group Sheets. By using your genealogy computer program, do ONE group sheet at a time. Save it as ASCII TEXT. You can then open this file in your word processor, or Note Pad. Copy and Paste the whole thing, placing it into an E-mail message to me, Markie <[email protected]>. Place "GROUP SHEET" in the subject line. You are also welcome to attach the group sheet as a seperate file to the e-mail message. Please include a notation or star by the name of the person who is... CHOCTAW or...NAME WHO IS FROM A DIFFERENT TRIBE, listing tribal name... Cherokee.. Creek.... etc. Example: Husband: John Doe..."Choctaw". Wife: Jane Doe.. "Cherokee". or...THOUGHT TO BE NATIVE AMERICAN by oral history. These notations will be very useful to anyone who will research your family group sheet. Please include as many sources and documentation as possible. This page is an example, and the actual group sheet of your family will include as many children as you have.
