ABSOLUTELY, Margie! Good insight. And yes, there aren't many full-bloods left. But here's a wild suggestion; why don't we encourage our children and grandchildren to find and marry other Choctaws. OK, go ahead and laugh; but I still think it's a good idea. I told my six kids... marry Native.... did they listen? NOooo... When that old love bug bites, the heart rules the brain ever time. <G> But I'm fixing to get one! She should have been mine 14 years ago and I am thrilled! My son and his first love are back together again! They dated from the 7th grade through high school. Wedding plans made a year after graduation... then they broke up. Each married someone else. Each had two children. 14 years later, they are both on the way to being single and GETTNG MARRIED when they can!! Her father was from Boston and is 1/2 Sicilian, 1/4 black, and 1/4 Indian. I don't know which tribe yet, her aunt has all the papers in Boston. What tribes live in Boston? Anyway, I now have another dark haired, black eyed, little girl, even if she will be a step grand daughter. I know there will be another one along in the future also! They always wanted a little girl. <G> What is weird is, without knowing it.....she named her son Tyler (9), and her daughter Taylor (4). He named his daughter Taylor (5), and his son Tyler (4)!! Boy are they gona get mixed up calling kids for supper! Sorry, I'm so HAPPY about this, I just had to share it!! LOL I have always loved her so much, just like a daughter, and now she will be. Val, my mother had Cherokee and Choctaw through one grandmother, and Choctaw through her other grandmother, but she popped up as the only Red Head in our whole extended family! Guess some of that Irish sort of came out! LOL Markie At 09:41 PM 06/16/2000 -0700, you wrote: >I tell my boys, marry Choctaw! Marry Chickasaw!
