I always looked at the movies, etc. a little differently, I think, knowing that I am part Indian. My Mother never said much beyond just that we were Choctaw, Cherokee, and Chickasaw. I remember growing up with that knowledge and I guess I inherited their culture without realizing that it was different from the neighbors who might have been German or Italian or whatever. It was just the was it was at our house. My Mother's sister, on the other hand, has embraced a lot of the Choctaw art and decorating. She remembers the Indian children being called out of school to be counted as the schools got more money for the Indian kids. She and her husband developed some land here in California and named their street "Choctaw Trace". BTW, he passed over last week. We are going up north to see her on Thursday. I am sorry, I didn't mean to get so long-winded. Mary
