I remember. I am so sorry about your daughter. Hope her little finger gives her no problems. They can do a lot of good work with skin graft. Yes we are given what we can handle at the time. Hugs to you, your granddaughter, and her mother too. Ok...if anyone remembers me saying that I "heard" someone say "I've cut my finger off" and that my bro-in-law wouldn't use his knife that evening because I told him about it. Well, I had ruled out it being any of the kids because whoever said it was calm and not excited or screaming. Well, just found out yesterday that my Grand-daughter cut of a big part of her finger on the seam of her neighbors swimming pool. She'll need skin graphs to make it look remotely normal, but she's dealing with it very well. Her Mom said she didn't get excited, their neighbor is an RN and he took care of it, since there was nothing to put back on, they are just taking her to doc next week to see about the graphting. Wish us luck with this one. That's one of those times you wish you had seen or heard more....or that I could at least figure "who" it is. Gets frustrating at times, but I really do wish I understood it and learn to use it better. It's never been anything that would affect me directly...always about someone else. I guess someday, I'll know what I need to....never more than I can handle I guess. Shelley
I think Charlie Jones is a great story teller (Shukanumpa) He lives in Idabel and is a member of the Tribal council .
you all want to hear something really wild! the book of mormon is about a group of "indians" from egypt and jerusalem, jews, who traveled to south american and settled the lands there and here in north america. the story is about 2 brothers who constantantly at war with each other they have a final battle in the new york area and one group is completly wiped out. archaeology records were found (brass plates) but no one knows where they are today( but the book tells of many other records in a language that is both egyptian and jewish) it tells of the final days of the indians and their future and tells also about the white man and the things he must do for the indian its good reading once you read it though you cant stop reading it again im not advocating to become a mormon because i think this group is trying to keep it from the indian out of spite and plus their leader joseph smith was killed because he sinned so much against maybe the indian the true meaning and purpose of the book of mormon has been lost and needs to be rediscovered here is a small excerpt from the book and now i would prophesy somewhat more concerning the jews and the gentiles (whites). for after the book (mormon) of which i have sspoken shall come forth and be written unto the gentiles and sealed up again unto teh lord therre sahll be many which shall believe the words which are written and they shall carry them forth unto the remnant of our seed and then shall the remnant of our seed know concerning us how that we came out from jerusalem and that they are descendants of the jews and the gospel shall be declared among them wherefore they shall be restored unto the knowledge of their fathers and also to the knowledge of jc which was had among their fathers ----- Original Message ----- From: Val <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, September 01, 2000 7:48 AM Subject: Re: [CHAHTA] I Need Help!! > I truly believe we must allow ourselves to accept the 'planes' of existence > and our People will find us. I have a male friend who also has this power. He, too, considers it a curse. The problem seems to be that there is no one around to help or encourage or explain this phenomenon. I have tried to work with my friend encouraging him to seek help from the higher power who endowed him with this ability. I ask you to do the same. Fear is manifested in a lack of trust and understanding. Go to your higher power in love and submission and ask what it is that is wanted of you. Hello! I would like to add to this chat of "knowing" things. I have dreams of events that come true. It scares me. I remember just one of many events when I awoke one morning and my dad was watching the astronauts prepare to go up. I remember coming into the room from my bedroom to get a cup of coffee and I said "That rocket is going to get up there and blow up." I took my cup of coffee and sat down to watch the preparation and the take-off with my dad. Then right before our eyes, the rocket blew up killing all the astronauts and the lady school teacher. I apologize for not remembering their names. We were both shocked but I think I was more shocked than my dad. I had never even, for a moment, considered what I had said. It was just a comment and not a prediction. We would never have given it a second thought if it were not for such comments throughout my life since the age of 4. My parents always took precautions even if they didn't always totally believe what I would say. My folks never talked about my telling of my dreams. We always kept it in the family. I knew the morning on the day that my uncle was to die. He went into a coma and then he died. My husband takes my dreams very seriously. I have yet for any of my "special" dreams not come true. I keep praying that I never dream of anything happening to anything or anyone extremely close to me or to my place of work or where I attend college. I do not accept this fate as a gift but as a curse. Even though it scares me and I hate having the dreams they still happen. It is certainly not something one can control. I believe there are people who have these "specializations" that the secular world cannot explain and neither can the "church" world. I believe people like us who have these "knowings" are extremely sensitive people and something or someone has determined to have us be the "buffers" for those who may not be as sensitive to their environment or even care. Some don't believe. My husband says I have extremely perceptive discernment. I believe this is also because I am an extremely sensitive person and can pick up particular "vibes or karma or whatever one chooses to call it." I believe there are a myriad of people who have these "knowings." But because of not wanting to be singled out as "crazy", they keep quiet about it. Maybe that is best. Because, with me, I consider it a scary event and not a blessing. Patricia Ruskauff

I truly believe we must allow ourselves to accept the 'planes' of existence and our People will find us. It does help to be in the area where they lived or on our 'land base'. Where there footsteps traveled always helps if you can not achieve some sort of spiritual guidance. We have been raised by negative discrimination for so long that to even be able to imagine the many planes the universe posesses are almost impossible. Accept their existence. Life is energy, energy is light and light travels forever. Our ancestors are at their campfires in the Milky Way, a place where the Earth exists. Allow them to come to you. Maybe you are expecting to much! Accept that you are Chata, believe their words. I believe that term covers the spectrum. I understand not telling others for fear of being called crazy. I had an out of body experience 39 years ago when my first daughter was being born and didn't speak of it for 20 years. > I haven't asked for help finding my Choctaw ancestors yet because I felt it was useless and it may be. I feel that without help from the other side from my great-great grandmother, I will never find the information I need written in any book, or on any piece of paper any where. They said she was part Choctaw and that she was raped by a full-blood Choctaw. This was in 1880 and she never married or had any other children besides my great grandfather. The chances of my finding any thing written down any where is "0". Many times I have wished I could be close to my departed ancestors and have been told that they are close to us and wondered if there was any way I could prepare myself in order to be in tune to the quiet promptings that I know are possible. From what I read and hear, I think it is more something that is more a "gift" than something that can be "acquired." > Does anyone have any ideas on this subject? > Fay > > > ==== CHAHTA Mailing List ==== > Home Page: > http://freepages.cultures.rootsweb.com/~choctaw/index.htm >
Dear Fay and Arla, I have found proof of heirship... but my ancestors keep calling me. My GGreatGrandMother Amanda Guynes and GGGRandFather John are there say keep hunting my child you will mind us. Each time I search I keep being drawn back to this one Family of Guynes. I know my ancestors are there I just can't connect. I have found them on paper but not where they came from. I feel its either MIssissippi or maybe LA...just haven't connected. I know its my GGGrandMother saying I'm here honey you just have to find me and when you do my arms will wrap around you and lead you where ever you need to be. I just feel it. It just seems the more I find the more I want. I just know its my GGGrandMother calling me. I feel her presentence there. Keep searchin they are there... I will never give up to find then. I wish my GGreatmother and GGGrandfather could see their GGGGGrandaughters. They would be so proud. I have 6 generations now and still looking. ONe of my daughters is as blond and blueyed as she can be but her heritage is as important to her ans if she was dark haired and dark skined as our people were at the beginning My prayer is that all of our people find each other ...wouldn't it be the best Pow Wow in heaven that we have ever had!!!! Love to all my brothers and sisters in our Choctaw and to all the Native Americans I praise you and someday we will all meet in Heaven and unite again. May all be blessed today and everyday, LInda Kirby Branum Researching: Guynes,(Guynes isChoctaw Line) Henderson, Odgen, Kirby, Branum ----- Original Message ----- From: "John & Arla Williams" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, September 01, 1980 12:56 AM Subject: Re: [CHAHTA] I Need Help!! > Many times I > > have wished I could be close to my departed ancestors and have been told that > > they are close to us and wondered if there was any way I could prepare myself > > in order to be in tune to the quiet promptings that I know are possible.
