Ahh - okay. I see what you are trying to do. That's not what a merge document does. The "Merge" in Documents works the same as the "Merge" in place name, misc data, etc - ie: It changes any references (source references) within all events and individuals to point to the Primary Document (rather than Secondary Document) and then deletes the Secondary. It does not try to combine the information of the secondary into the primary, any more than a secondary place name gets combined with the primary place name.
