I can't figure out why they would not appear on the screen. The icons get compiled right into the program itself and look just fine on my computer. >4. Story tab. >I was not aware of the facility for jumping directly to the story for >another person. This makes it a bit more attractive. The hyperlink jumps are part of the TX OCX and the one thing I don't like about it is the little up-arrow when you go over a persons name. I would like to change it to a hand like on the Web but I have no control over that. >6. Edit Event >I propose to indicate clearly that FreeFormat means in fact FreeFormatDate. Maybe so, but I thought the BOX labeled DATE which boxes in all the date information indicated that. Maybe I've got to set the box off more with a different color or bevel. >The namedisplay should always start with the Key person and preferably with >the very person, not just the same name. >Now it only starts with a person being selected by NameSearch. >If you select a person in any other way it will start with some random person. It supposedly starts with whoever was at the top of the NameSearch the last time it was used. But I think I should provide a few options for this that the user can set: * Always start at top * Start with last NameSearch person * Start with Key Individual And yes, maybe I can add some date info to the side as suggested (per Ver 2). >10. I see your points here and I've got to think about this. There are reasons why I did it the way I did. Since I have allowed a Detail to be used more than once, it follows that you do not want to have a detail note field as part of the event itself, otherwise it would not be usable by other events. Secondly, entering details on the event window will end up complicating that window and making it just as complicated as the Source window which has two lists (Ref and Detail). I will do some more thinking here, but my preliminary re-assement now is that I am not sure how to make this any less confusing. The data structure is simply more complicated than Ver 2 notes and as such there is going to be more confusion about how to easily implement it. Any further suggestions or even screen layout ideas are welcome. Ira ---------------------------------------------------------- Ira J.
