Hi, I have never run the DOS version, but it sounds like your installation of the CD-ROM may have loaded a DOS level driver that is being activated under '95 when you run DOS programs. If it has used up part of the DOS 640k memory, CFT may not have enough space to run. >From the DOS prompt under '95, run the MEM command. If it shows a value for "Largest executable program size" of around 560K or greater, then all is well. If it comes up with 350K or similar, then a driver of some sort is being loaded and should not be required. If this is happening, look at the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files which should be found in the root directory of C: drive. Firstly, check the dates of these two files. If they correspond with the date you did the installation, that is a guide that they have been changed. If changed, there may also be CONFIG and AUTOEXEC files with different extensions, that may represent the previous versions. You could experiment with reinstating the earlier versions and restarting the PC. 95 would not normally require DOS level drivers for the CD-ROM under normal conditions. Another factor may be that the drive letters have become renamed from what were previously in use. Check that they look normal. Beyond these suggestions, Ira may be able to offer a comment on the memory requirements of that older version.
