This is normal. LDS perform certain ordinances (Baptisms, Endowments, Sealings) for deceased ancestors. Yes, there is the Database Merge function on the Main Window (when you close a database). Press F1 for help when you get there before beginning the Merge. I suggest reading about the Merge Database in the help before the attempt.
