G'day Ira, > The problem seems to be in the "Include Individual Note" and "Include >Event Notes". If I leave these unchecked the story works fine. If I >check just one, it does not matter which one, or both, no story at all. >The three options for "In Parent/Child Events" seem to work OK That seems to happen also with me BUT IF I HAVE an INDIVIDUAL note and "Include Individual Note" is checked it is OK. If I do NOT have an Individual Note and "Include Individual Note" is checked - NO GOOD. Ed Blakeley said:- > AS SOON AS you click Include Event >Notes, you lose everything except individual notes. Everything else seems >to work OK except Include Event Notes. I find I still have SOME Event Notes that print with the Individual note last of all (as I believe it should). I have just finished an experiment. I had found that in the foregoing I realised that those Event Notes that did print started from the latest one (say 1998) and printed back to the point where an event DID NOT have a note but they did print in correct date sequence thus:- Individual Note 1930 Event with note 1940 Event with note 1950 Event WITHOUT note 1960 Event with note 1970 Event with note These printed from 1960 onwards with the Individual Note last. I then went on and inserted a TEST NOTE in all Events EXCEPT the Christening (which was totally blank but had not been removed from the Individual Window) and ALL worked. EUREKA!! I then rechecked my own "story" where I have some Events without notes and all was blank again. I then removed the INDIVIDUAL NOTE from my main test BUT left the "Include Individual Note" checked and VOILA! - ALL was BLANK again. Unchecked "Include Individual Note" and BACK the full story. My guess is that the problem is caused by having either of the "Include...Notes" boxes checked when ever there are:- (a) Events WITHOUT Notes. (b) Individual WITHOUT Notes Just to finish things off, I then DELETED one of my User Events that was in my main test Individual BUT left data ( as it would be after an Import). I still got my story OK but there was a "nonsense" in the Event - It took the "value" of either the event before or after (they were both the same. The note printed correctly thus:- Nan and "Tusky" [0007] moved about 1960. (Actually they took up Lawn Bowls) It would appear that she "blossomed" to a greater degree than he. Regarding the FONT problem, all options EXCEPT "Main Text" work as they should. Anything set for "Main Text" still effects ALL Text EXCEPT for the NAMES in a story which show according to the specific setting in Names/Surnames. BTW - The Names example seems to contain the surname "Smith" which is not effected by that setting. Phew! It sure is great how this Forum collectively gets together to sort out a problem :-) HURU, Mike
