    3. Try these instructions written by Karen Pastuzyn. Maybe this will help those having so much difficulty. =================================== Instructions for CFTW upgrades (Windows 95 and Win 3.1 instruuctions) for example purposes, we will assume that your data is in a directory called: c:\cftw\smith and that the program is installed in the default directory called c:\cftw (1) backup your data directory (2) if you have added events, make a copy of the files: c:\cftw\language.tps and c:\cftw\stdeve.tps (3) get your user registration code and keep it handy: in CFTW program, click HELP, User Code (4) download the upgrade zipped file(s) into some directory (5) use an unzipping program to decompress the downloaded zipped upgrade into a directory: for example, EXTRACT into C:\cft229 once unzipped, you can delete the .ZIP files (6) use the uninstall program supplied with CFTW to deinstall the older version (it is not recommended to use a deinstall utility): the uninstall program which comes with CFTW does a clean job of deinstalling CFTW. (note: if you get the message to delete the directory c:\windows\fonts answer NO to this prompt) (7) RUN the install of the new version: WIN95: START RUN c:\cft229\install.exe Win 3.1x: FILE RUN c:\cftw229\install.exe (when prompted for disk 2, click OK) (8) before running the new version do this: COPY your saved language.tps and stdeve.tps files into the directory c:\cftw restore your backuped data into the directory c:\cftw\smith (use your specific named directory!) (9) Run the new version: it will recognize your added events and set your program defaults if you want it to open your personal database. ---------------------------------------------------------- Ira J.
