I just reinstalled 2.29 from a freshly loaded single file (last time I had downloaded two separate files, copied to 3.5" disk and installed from them). I first tried to install without removing the old 2.29 version and it installed so fast it was obvious nothing new was copied. I then used the unistall icon using the option not to remove the directory c:\program files\cftw. I get the same idiosyncrasies as before: 1) When you click on the icon in the new Cumberland Family tree box it thinks it cannot find it so starts looking with its little flashlight. The icon has the generic Microsoft Windows 95 appearance. The file shown under the properties-shortcut window is correct, i.e. (c:\program files\cftw\cftw32.exe). 2) The attempt to restore an earlier backup (one done with 2.27 or earlier) fails with error 110. However, before when it got this error the new directory was created for the data with no contents. This time data were created and a line appeared so it would appear you could load it while in cftw, but the error window comes up reading "No valid Family tree files exist" 3) Each time it loads it says it is copying the font files, and then in the next window says it cannot, but then the program seems to run and print normally afterwards. 4) Attempt to backup on exit from the program gives the 160 error. I think I will reload 2.27!
