Nope, program was there and could be brought up by the old icon, still on my tabletop. Both icons refered to same executable file! Really weird, but could be repeated. Oops, my message of last night got sent accidently. I was going to peruse the responses before sending but forgot. I frequently am unable to get a connection to internet in the evening due to terminal congestion so concoct messages on Eudora and send out the next morning (before students wake up). I saw the very good suggestion that I had not thought of regarding the old files, just unzip myself even though the program seems to have trouble so doing. Indeed, this worked fine. I can unzip and put a directory under c:\Proram Files\cftw and it will load ok from 2.27 (and probably would also from 2.29 were I to reinstall). However, when I set up to restore from the same zipped directory I yet get the indication of a restore, but it only adds the directory, but does not unzip..! (I plan to stick to 2.27 until something about it pains me or I hear an Eureka from the skunkworks and a new version or two with good reports from all.)
