G'day Ira, There are times when I close the database that I DO NOT wish to overwrite (backup?) the last backup when the automatic backup occurs ( I do have automatic backup selected in the Database Configuration). I select "NO" in the "Overwrite?" dialogue box and ASSUME that this means that no back up has been made. Explorer would appear to confirm this. I do recall doing some similar operation (which I can no longer duplicate) when, after selecting the "NO" option I was presented with a dialogue that said that the "operation" had NOT been carried out. Could we please have a confirmation in future that when we select not to overwrite that a backup is not made and thus that our previous backup will not contain any errors we may have introduced in out last use of the database? BTW - As I understand it, every time I close my database (even by clicking the top right "X") I save a "new" version that is opened next time I access that database. Is this so? (Again according to my check with Explorer just then the answer is yes). I have just re-read what I have written and realise that what I want to be able to do is NOT to save the last evolution of the database into which I may have made changes that I then decide I do not want. This could happen if I have to close the database in a hurry and have not had time to go back and undo prior mistakes. Sorry to be so long-winded about it :-( HURU Mike
