Each new entry thereafter went in as 2849 and spouses appeared pointing to individuals already in the database. It would not backup to a zip file and the only way I could get a copy was by using Win95 backup routines, or preparing a GEDCOM file. The fix was to make by importing the GEDCOM file into another genealogical program which is available on the net. This program writes only those records that are complete and puts any others into an error file. The correct records were then exported by GEDCOM and successfully imported into CFTW.
