I have the options set to routinely back up when closing the database. I have had no problems on any 32 bit version. It seems to make an ordinary zipped backup of the directory. (This was fortunate as reported earlier when the merged directory omitted the jpg images). I run First Aid, but not Norton's crash guard, or any virus checker except on load up when the system is turned on.
