To a limited extent this can already be done in CFTW using the global search mechanism. You can search, for example, on the year 1900 and get all the events that were entered for that year listed on the screen and/or printed. True, you can't work with a range of years, but you can do one year at a time this way. Just Mark "Date" under "Events" after you enter the year after "Search for".
