I do appreciate hearing that there are a number of people (as I suspected) that never had a problem. I suspect the problem is related to the OCX which the backup uses. An OCX is a piece of software written by another party. Therefore I don't have complete control over it. The solution I propose is about the quickest one to implement. Otherwise I don't see wasting a great deal of my time tabulating types of computers that have the problem, etc. (There are much more beneficial things I could do my time - like working on Ver 3.) I have known of the problem for a long time (probably a couple of years) but have assummed it was a minor problem experienced by only a few users. And that well might be the case.
