    1. splitting files

    3. I just upgraded to 2.27x and also combined my five databases of various family branches into one. I found that the program had difficulty attaching two together in some instances and either ended up with one individual (whose father had the same name) or after some diddling, different individuals, but with two sons, one from each database. I also had one instance where it refused to recognize one data base even though it could be accessed and seemed otherwise normal. I solved this by GED exporting and then importing into the combined one. All is more or less straight (I think!). My question now is that since some of the family members are showing an interest in obtaining a copy of mainly their own branches, whether there is some easy way to split without having to tediously mark each record. i.e. is there a way to take a great grandfather in one branch of the family and pullout all of his descendents? Of course many of the wives along the way have different names, but one should retain those as well. Alternately, is there a simple way to pull out the pedigree of a given individual into a separate file?
