Tracy - The place would be where he was stationed. I would put the branch of service in Misc. You can word it how you like. It would then read: (Name) was in the Military (date) at (place) (misc). For example, mine would read : Edward Blakeley was in the military (between May 1944 and Aug 1946) at (Cherry Point, NC) (in a Marine Air Corps night fighter squadron as a radar technician.) You can change the verb for Place if you want, but the verb will be used in each instance the event is used. I use (at) for some events and (in) for some events.
