G'day, As an old Navy man I have heaps of military type entries. I use:- MSRV - Military, Entry PROM - Promoted APPT - Appointed and others. I have then as CFT-Win Standard Events but I may have "invented" them myself and maybe they should be User. They work like this:- Michael entered military service 03 Jan 1945 at the RANC, FND, Westernport, VIC. "He spent the next four years at the RANC as a Cadet Midshipman......" Michael was appointed 01 Jan 1951 as Sub-Lieutenant. "He received his "Commission" in this rank on 30 Sept 1954." Michael was promoted 16 Sep 1953 to Lieutenant. I know the "Commission" bit looks a bit funny but the formal paperwork seemed to take a long time :-( The bits in "......." are NOTES attached to the event. BTW I have only used the "...." here for illustrative purposes. They do not appear in a normal print out.
