Ira, I was in Database Configuration, Other page, and had opened Auto Family Group, with the Auto Open Name Search window active (Normal Surnames selected) where I saw the file indicator at 'bottom of file' position. After dragging the indicator to see if it was in fact "stuck" I scrolled down the list using the down arrow, and was holding and clicking the mouse button when the first lock up occured. I could not invoke the task scheduler so had to hardware reset. The error read "Word Code not in File: 1-3849" The windows error read "Language file missing OR second instance of program not allowed" I had the feeling switch bounce in the mouse may have occured. Several attempts to repeat the error appeared unsuccessful, but later efforts have managed to repeat the error, although the system responded OK to the normal windows error recovery. The subsequent windows error report varied from the "Language file missing....etc" to an "Illegal Operation - invalid page fault" - the program error, however, always the same. The trigger appears to be intermittent/rapid mouse clicking in the vicinity of the file indicator and the down arrow junction area. (could it be due to the inactive indicator) Re. comments on loss of shortcut keys, F, M, C, etc. I noticed immediately the loss of these keys (although the F key is still partially active), but having played with the 'new' system as a new system, ignoring past habits (you have to make the effort) I find it to be OK. It is a new method. The increase in speed of the program is impressive, noticeable in sorting/presentation and the reduction of keystrokes. "Import ASCII text" to clipboard - paste to an individual's note, then click undo (simulating an incorrect placement) results in an illegal operation error. (invalid page fault in TX32.DLL) The only other observation I have at this early stage, is after having imported a ver. 2 database, go to 'Story Option' and select 'Indent. paragraph'. The resulting story with indented paragraph can "lose" some words; the word wrap does not appear to take care of the line shift overflow. The imported Notes text does not appear to be affected, only the story text generated by the program from events. I have not explored all commands in detail as yet. A good result so far. Brian
