The Note Sections in Ver 3 are controlled by a third-party Program called the TX OCX. I have no control over it. Since others have not complained about this and it does not appear on my computers I do wonder if it is related to monitor resolution? For example, I cut and paste this entire message and placed it in a note and it looks just the same as it does in Eudora. If you place the cursor at the beginning of text - hold the shift key down and press Ctrl-End, the entire text will be highlighted. (Standard in all windows programs.)
