Once you change a page, all the others lose their page numbers, as the index is then wrong. The solution is to review pages from the beginning, without printing. This will re-establish the corect numbers Regards Gale ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael CALDER" <mikecalder@optusnet.com.au> To: <CFT-WIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, December 23, 2004 9:35 AM Subject: RE: [CFTW] Indexed Book G'day Ian, > Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong when compiling an > indexed book. I am in a bit of a rush but I think this is covered in the manual. You have to do a "dummy" print of the whole book starting at the first chapter to get the pages, indexes, contents correct. I actually print to a PDF file using FinePrint. I think there is a way to print to another text etc. file the idea being not to waste paper and ink. When that has been done you then print the book properly but you must print all in one hit - again I think. BTW - using the PDF output enables you to SEE that it all looks OK before using the paper. Hence my current conversation with Ira in a "Chapter of DOCUMENTS" ;-) Have fun.... Mike.
