Hi Ira and All Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong when compiling an indexed book. I have added all the reports and separated them in to chapters and topics within chapters etc. I have then edited and previewed each report and the starting page numbers have appeared for each report and the list of sources and name index is all correct in the preview. As soon as I select the print option for the indexed book it prints the first chapter but all the page numbers disappear from the next reports. It then begin each report at page 1 and the sources and index do not show any details whatsoever. Do I have to print each report separate and reindex the whole thing before printing the source report and index of names, or do I print these first? Regards Ian Marson
G'day Ian, > Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong when compiling an > indexed book. I am in a bit of a rush but I think this is covered in the manual. You have to do a "dummy" print of the whole book starting at the first chapter to get the pages, indexes, contents correct. I actually print to a PDF file using FinePrint. I think there is a way to print to another text etc. file the idea being not to waste paper and ink. When that has been done you then print the book properly but you must print all in one hit - again I think. BTW - using the PDF output enables you to SEE that it all looks OK before using the paper. Hence my current conversation with Ira in a "Chapter of DOCUMENTS" ;-) Have fun.... Mike.
