    3. Ira, I occasionally end yup with the CFT program not showing features like the various PRINT reports. When I run the install again, it comes back. I frequently clean up my cookie. Am I erasing something I should not be? Any idea what is causing this. User tip for those on outlook or other contact management: I have started saving the e-mail addresses of people who ask about certain family under a category of that family. If someone ask about Hildebrandt, I add them to a contact group of G-Hildebrandt. I have been able to go back and bring others into discussions of the family they are asking about. Ron Ronald H. I am a returning user of CFT v 3.14d I started my family tree a few years ago, basically transcribing some paper based records of my fathers, and I am now taking up where he left off, adding the latest generations. I think I have mastered the basics of CFT but I was wondering how to go about recording information that is general in nature, information that pertains to many generations. For example, like many families, many generations of my family lived in the same English village. What's the best way to record that information so that it can be included in a family history without having to attach it to one or more individuals? I'd welcome advice from other CFT users Regards Paul Barrett paul.barrett@hornton.org.uk ==== CFT-WIN Mailing List ==== To unsubscribe from CFT-WIN, send an e-mail message to: CFT-WIN-L-request@rootsweb.com (for individual messages) CFT-WIN-D-request@rootsweb.com (for Digest mode) Subject: unsubscribe In the body include only one word: unsubscribe (Turn OFF your signature file when sending this command)

    3. Perhaps you have inadvertently set the program to Viewer mode? I had found that some people when experimenting with the Electronic Data File Viewer (File Menu - Publish [CD icon]) will set the output folder to the same folder as the CFT program folder and thus overwrite all settings. If this does happen one can go to Help menu - About and click the CD icon there and remove the check from Viewer mode.
