You may be correct, but yours is the ONLY such "refusal" that I've seen for the thousands of users on the many Lists I manage. Not trying to place any blame, but that would seem to me to indicate that Rootsweb was having problems with only your server. At least, to date there haven't been any such problems with the many, many different ISPs that all our subscribers use. Hopefully, there won't be any either. If you don't mind, please try to send from the problem address again and let's see if it bounces again. If so, I will personally contact the appropriate person at Rootsweb to see what is causing the problem. Regards, George W. In order to reduce spam some ISPs are in the proces of closing port 25, which prevents sending email to an email-server which is other than the ISPs own. ISPs have warned the market for this action since august 2003. Furthermore some ISPs have earlier closed down already the possibility to retrieve mail from mailboxes not being part of the ISP one is connected to. This is usually done by ISPs offering a free service. regards, Hans de Haan Apeldoorn, The Netherlands -------Original Message------- From: CFT-WIN-L@rootsweb.com Date: woensdag 3 maart 2004 20:18:50 To: CFT-WIN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [CFTW] (forw) Strange mail server setup at rootsweb.com You may be correct, but yours is the ONLY such "refusal" that I've seen for the thousands of users on the many Lists I manage.
