Not sure if it is legal or not but hope Ira does not mind, I have laptop at home and mainframe at work (so work is not too hard) and all I need to do is transfer the database file from one computer to the other after I have altered it. you must not forget the Media file if you alter that as well. It is sometimes tricky remembering which one I altered last, but thats my problem. Just replace the old with the updated file. Yes a memory stick is ideal, you can pick up a 125 meg for ?13.50 now and the price is coming down all the time. How does one keep them in step, does it need a program to organise the updates? I would be grateful for any advice and experiences. Here's a good one I keep CFTW in its entirety on a jump drive and just plug it into a USB port on any computer I am using at the time. Great to just show off the program when discussing genealogy with newbies.
I consider one copy of CFT for the family legal - even if you install it on more than one computer. So having a copy on your laptop and on your PC at home is just fine. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- Mr. Ira J.
