Hi, Ira, et al-- This plays into my problem with v3.07 too. As you know, I am legally blind. I find many of the font and background colors in 3.07 very difficult--if not impossible--to see. This wasn't true of the old 2.51x version so, as a result, I had to go back to v2.51. I really like v3.07. I just can't see enough of it to use it effectively. In the future, I wonder if it might be possible to include a way to change the colors that you cannot control from Windows? That was the beauty of 2.51 for an old blind codger like myself. The colors were all Windows based and, since I use white fonts against a black or very dark blue background and white fonts against dark gray, etc. in Windows, that is the way the colors show up in v2.51. This is really the only way I can read effectively and, even so, I have to use Zoom Text (a screen enlarger) at the same time. Unfortunately, there are just too many situations in v3.07 involving fonts and colors that I cannot control and, as a result, I cannot use it. Please keep those of us who suffer from macula degeneration in mind the next time you do a major overhaul on Cumberland. Thanks a lot for a wonderful program, however. walt boswell [email protected] P.S. I hope you understand what I'm talking about here. I'm afraid that I don't know enough about computers to express myself very well. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ira J Lund" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, May 17, 2001 6:02 AM Subject: Re: [CFTW] icon colours > At 08:43 PM 5/16/01 +0000, you wrote: > >Another item for the 'wish list' > >It's just a little thing, but as I get more sources in my data it becomes > >more and more irritating. > >The day-glo pink book icon for the sources acts like a red error light to > >my mind. > >I see no valid reason to have the source icon so obnoxiously visible. I understand what your saying walt. In the windows 3.1 Control panel you can access the colors the computer uses and change them. I don't see any way to do that with win95, there is no color selection icon in the control panel group. That's why I asked if Ira could change it in the program since I saw no way to change it at my screen. If there is a way to change the colors in win 95 then I'd like to know too. mike At 09:56 17/05/01 -0500, you wrote: >Hi, Ira, et al-- > >This plays into my problem with v3.07 too. >walt boswell >[email protected]

Option Menu - Program Configuration - Language Tab: Highlight the English Language then press the Properties button at top and you can increase the Font size. This is actually an improvement over Ver 2 where you could not change the font. Both Ver 2 and Ver 3 have Icons (Ver 3 just has more icons) and they are the only things that cannot be changed as far as color is concerned. Otherwise there is no difference in adjusting colors. I have done nothing different between the two versions as far as ability of Windows to control the colors. Right mouse click on desktop (background) go to properties and click on Appearance tab. That is the place where in both Windows 95 and Windows 98 you can control the Windows Colors. I really don't see any difference other than these mentioned between Ver 2 and Ver 3 as far as colors are concerned. Icons only. With the improvement that you really can adjust the font in Ver 3 and couldn't in Ver 2 - so to me I don't understand why one would say Ver 2 is better as far as this is concerned.
