I downloaded and installed AFT and my first impression is that it doesn't really have the same interface as CFT - looks more like some of the other programs I have looked at briefly. I think that there is a certain amount of similarity between all Family Tree programs in that the basica underlying structure of Individual Records and Marriage Records must be in place to make the family connections possible. Otherwise the details can begin to vary. I have not really spent a lot of time looking at other programs, but the times I have, I have had a hard time since I happen to know and understand CFT so thouroughly that there are some features that I can't seem to do without. For example, has anyone ever seen any other program that allows the creation of Selection Lists with the colored diamonds on right side of Family Group and NameSearch. I use that feature so much I can't do without it and yet have never seen anyone else that has a similar feature. Ira ------------------------------------------------ Mr. Ira J.
