I tried the uninstall-reinstall thing again and this time success. difference was accepting the removal of the cftw3 folder (having moved the database files out of it first. The buttons are back, the roll-down menus seem to be complete. It still won't find the databases (they are back in the cftw3 folder) unless I browse for them. At least I can get on with my working. At least I can get on with my working. I quicker way would have been simply to go to Help Menu - About. Then click the Viewer button at top (CD icon) and then remove the check mark that puts the program in Viewer Mode. Ira ------------------------------------------------ Mr. Ira J.
