    3. Hi there Ron, I saw Ira's answer but not sure if it answered your question. As I see it .. it was "Is there any way to see what info has been up dated ?" When you merge you can save a document as detailed at the bottom of the merge window (Make sure you save it where you can find it !!). This ends up giving you ALL the new people entered at the top (which you can delete) .. and at the bottom a list of all the matched people. This will consist of the two database names ONLY, IF there are no new details. This is the only place that a change of name is recorded, so look through it for that first. I then delete all the entries where the names are the same and there are no details. All that then remain are names that have changed, or entries where detail has changed. This should provide you with your answer. The ONLY stumbling block is if there is the slightest difference between the details, (like Birth : London in one and London, UK in the other .. then this shows up.) So a recommendation would be to agree on a standard before merging. I hope this has been of some help. I am doing research with a family member who lives in Australia and we | wish to merge files so we can keep a 'master' file. When we merge 2 files | however, we find that the merge report lists every IPN name - some many | hundreds. This means that the report is so very long and really all we wish | to know are those IPNs where there is a difference between the 2 files so we | can decide which is the correct entry and edit it accordingly. | Ira has responded that he intended it that way so he could check every IPN | entry. However I wonder if anyone has found a way around this. It might be | useful to have that function switchable so that either a full report is | produced or a report with only the file differences listed.
