    3. As the original contributor to this string, I thank you all for your interest. Here's what I did to try to resolve: On Ira's advice, I downgraded a version. This caused some unusual result, it would not display all my data on the screen even though it did exist. Rebuild did not work. Then, again, on Ira's adivce, I reloaded the complete version. The same thing happened when I tried to view my original data file with 3.2. Then I tried importing my gedcom & that finally worked. Something must have corrupted the database when I downgraded. Here's a warning to you all, DON'T DOWNGRADE! Although I was able to recover, it was hours of wasted time. Although I was able to recover, it was >hours of wasted time. Now that you mention this, I believe I know what the problem is. You are correct that all your data is in there and just fine. But what has happened is the way things gets displayed on the main Family Group Window changes due to the new "diamond". In 3.06 you can turn these on or off (Database Config). In 3.06 there is also a RESET button for resetting (clearing) this. The program tries to save the format of this window between sessions - and it gets saved internally to the database. Thus, the 3.06 format (when last used) was saved into the database which was then attempted to be opened by 3.05 (earlier version) and things would not look correct. But 3.05 has no reset button to clear this - so this is why a creation of new database and ged import will clear things up. Ira ------------------------------------------------ Mr. Ira J.
