    3. It seems that everyone has a different interpretation on this. I have looked at it closely and switched it in English in 3.07. It reads as follows: %N emigrated %D p{from} %P. %N immigrated %D p{to} %P. If you are seeing something different, you may likely be looking at a different language than English - as I don't know enough of other languages to be haphazardly changing any of them. If common people can't figure out the proper meaning of these two words, it makes me wonder what good the use of them is. But they are GEDCOM standards. The GEDCOM standard reads as follows: EMIG "An event of leaving one's homeland with the intent of residing elsewhere." IMI "An event of entering into a new locality with the intent of residing there." In both cases it seems obvious to me that they are following the definition I had obtained from the web. EMIG should show the "homeland" one is moving "from". IMMI should show the "new locality" where one is moving "to". I can't imagine from the quotes above interpreting it any differently. I shall leave them as they are in 3.07 and explained above. If anyone wants to change them for themselves, they can use the Std Event Editor.
