As I see it, you don't really need to change anything substantial here - simply consider an otherwise empty DEAT event an "non-empty" (so that it not suppressed) if the living flag is unchecked. Even this is not new, as you are already doing it for "chart" type reports, because these report already exhibit the desired behavior. John
