I have had exactly the same problem, i.e. I lost all the dates when I tried to read the data file on a new PC. Ira kindly offered to sort the problem if I sent him the file. I did and he sent it back sorted. Except that my machine still wouldn't read the dates - though it had notes and sources still intact. I didn't like to bother Ira again so I re-entered the direct line dates and all seems well with re-entered data. A relative who understands PCs better than I do said he has looked inside the data file and found the dates still there. He was unable to explain why CFT wouldn't read them.
