Greetings, I have just downloaded the 45 day free trial 3.14 version of Cumberland. It seems to do what I would like a program to do for me, but I when I try to import a gedcom it tells me the file is corrupt. I have imported this file to other programs I know have and they work. I thought the free trial would use gedcoms, am I wrong? Thanks, Jerry Longstrom ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well you have 3 options; your download was faulty/corrupt, your gedcom IS corrupt, or there is something non-standard in the gedcom that CFT doesn't recognise. Personally I have had no trouble with CFT and gedcom import/exports. Perhaps someone else on the List has further ideas? I uninstalled and downloaded another cumberland. I made a gedcom from family tree maker & from Legacy. (saving on my hard drive) I saved them as different names, and none of them will work. This is really strange to me. Does anyone know if the 45 day trial does not include gedcoms? The web site says it does. Hello, Your gedcom file might be write protected, fx. a file on a CD. Change the file properties.
