    1. CFT census event
    2. Claude Sturman
    3. What is the correct way to enter a census event in CFT ? I have been doing the date enumerated as the census date and in the Free Format area placing the ED number, sheet number, and page number. But this output when generating a webpage. Also on reports it makes a mess of this entry. Is there a better way to enter census data so that it shows correctly on webpages and reports ? Claude

    2. Tim Churchill
    3. As the pack seems to cause troubles with programs that need access to the web, it seems likely that CFT would be un-affected. It is the new firewall and security patches that cause trouble. Nevertheless I would lay low and see what transpires for the next few months unless you are already having trouble. If you have a good 3rd party firewall and a good virus checker you shouldn't worry. Ira ----- Original Message ----- From: Wilimek To: Ira Lund Sent: Thursday, June 24, 2004 5:56 AM Subject: Excellent possibility for sending pictures Hi Ira, I found an excellent program do send almost everything as PDF-file. It is a program called PDF-Mailer, which installs a virtuell printer and enables all printouts of any windows-programms to create PDF-files, readable by everybody by means of adobe-reader. The files are very small by some compression, dont ask me how. Attached yuo will find an exaple of several fotos. All CFT-printouts can be given directly to PDF-mailer, some of them (fotos!) get rather big. CFT-lists are much better to read as PDF-files. The attached example was directly made of my picture-list by ulead-photo-explorer. This programm can be downloaded and costs about 50 Euros. Google will help you to find all. Best regards M. Peter Wilimek

    1. Image Question in 3.14
    2. Michael Grocott
    3. Hi all, I'm just playing around with CFT, it's a lot better than Brother's Keeper! one thing, I don't have that many photos of the earlier part of the family, what I do have is a lot of signatures on BDM certificates that I've scanned in and want to put in the gallery section of the book (lets people know who could/couldn't write and how well educated people were), these are quite small and CFT seems to stretch the image, which in turn makes it look like it's been super zoomed in on and non-readable, is there a setting that I can turn on / off in CFT to stop it automatically streching images, or should I just create a bigger size image with the signature centred and surrounded by a lot of white space ? btw, A great product and well worth the money you are charging for it. Thanks in advance Michael.

    1. Re: [CFTW] Image Question in 3.14
    2. Ira J Lund
    3. CFT shouldn't stretch the image. Not sure why this is happening. The one possibility could be that most signatures are probably wider than they are taller and CFT is expecting things a bit more square or even taller than wider. But it is supposed to maintain the height to width ratio. If you want, email one sample signature photo to me and I'll take a look. (Don't send to the list, but to me directly.)
