Mary Christmas, Joe. I have one more suggestion: it may be necessary for you to first upgrade to a later version 2 (we reached V2.51, if I remember correctly) before we Ira came out with V3 This is actually a very active discussion list, so just wait a fes more days and I trust you will get the answer yoy are looking for! Jerry I finally got my data in the new program but had to import it as a gedcom file. It is a nice looking program but I'll have to relearn a lot of keystrokes. Thanks for your help. I'll be hollering again, I'm sure. Do you see much activity here? Joe
Thanks for getting back with me Jerry. The menus at the top containing the file menus are not even avaliable. It starts with a small box in front of the main screen that asks for a database selection. OK I got that to go away by naming my database. Joe I do use the latest version and would suggest you upgrade. I do not recall having this problem when I imported ver 2 to 3. Open your new database and try the rebuild under tools. Instructions from the manual: Upgrading from Cumberland Family Tree for Windows Version 2 is very easy. Do not delete your old Version 2 program and database until you have successfully transferred the data and are comfortable that all is running well. 1.Create a new CFT Version 3 database. You may name it whatever you wish (long file names allowed), as long as it uses the .cft extension. 2. If you use a language other than English, first go to the Database Configuration (Option Menu) and set the language of the database to the same language as your Version 2 database. 3. Without adding any data to the database, immediately go to the File Menu, Import/Export, CFT-Win Version 2 Import. Click the Select button to locate the folder with your old Version 2 database. Then click the Import button to import all the data. That is all there is to it. You should now have your data transferred from CFT-Win Version 2. I have a very old version of CFTW (V2.04). My question is, Should I upgrade? I downloaded a trial version off the web site but couldn't figure how to make it recognize my older data. What gives? I'm hoping this is still an active news group and I can get some help. Thanks, Joe Hooker

Nothing wrong. When you select Danish as the language it expects you to use Danish and not English - so when you enter an English word it doesn't know what you entered and reverts to the first month. Now I did have a "chapter" to which I had not given a name and it did not appear in the contents AISTR but the two documents, one of only a few lines, still printed OK. Suggest some useful name for the blank pages be the text in that document. Say "Joes Photos" or "This page intentionally blank" as an experiment and then see what happens. Good luck! Mike Further to my last message I think I have found the problem but don't know a way around it. I placed a descendent story starting at page 3 in the book. I then placed 4 blank documents in at the next page after the descendent story which happened to be page 22. Each blank was one page in length (pages 23, 24, 25 and 26). At page 27 I then inserted another descendent story. When I began to print the whole book it started at page 3 (missing the contents and title page) but when it came to page 23 I got an error message saying "this story has not been printed yet", likewise I got the same error for pages 24-26. The book then continued printing the next descendent story but started at page number 22 (rather than page 27). In other words it would not include the blank pages in the book. Even though I had edited each one prior to printing in order to get the page numbers in sequence. Note that there is no print or preview option when editing a blank page. Is this a bug in the program for printing the book when including blanks, or is there a way around this?
