Have you tried putting a space between the e and c (LE COURS)? But I do have a problem when I try to make my Family Tree Book. I click on the book icon and it opens to a blankspace. eg. no (Name) TABLE OF CONTENTS, no (name) APPENDIX A. SOURCES, or APPENDEX B. INDEX OF NAMES. Help.... Emilie Magotiaux
> When producing Family Group Charts I would like to be able to have >my name on the sheet as "Provided By" or something to that effect. This is handled neatly by the use of the Footnote, the button for which is located under the Print Reports screen. It gives three lines that will print at the foot of all pages. If I do that, it changes every name in the entire database, removing the all caps from all names, not just that one name. Elsewhere, I have seen names like that done with smaller font letters for the non-initial letters. All caps, but the initial letters are larger. If you can do that, you should make it so that just one name, not the entire database, can be changed. Yes, the name will appear slightly different from all the other surnames. But it will look something like LECOURS, if your email can read html. I fudged it here, forcing the L and C into a larger point size. Diana Ira J. >Only the first relation is given by relationship calcutor. If a individual and his spouse were cousins, the cousin relationship is not calculate. In Cft 3 ? This is correct. There have been several standards over time. At one time the Standard was to capitalize the entire surname. Now I am not so certain that you need to. Why don't you use the Tools Menu - Case Change and put all name parts in "Proper" Case and then go in and correct LeCours to show properly. One day when I get RTF support I tend to want to "underline" the surname. That's what they do in Asia on Visas and documents where they are more used to people from various cultures where surnames may be anywhere within the name. Only the first relation is given by relationship calcutor. If a individual and his spouse were cousins, the cousin relationship is not calculate. In Cft 3 ? This has probably been addressed before, but I am new to the list. How do you present a name like LeCours? Since surnames appear in all caps, it looks like LECOURS, and I think in the narative part, Lecours. I think there is a "cosmetic" bug as I checked it and it does say "misc data". However, it does properly look at the date field and for me reported a number of corretc entries when I tried it. John Slee. Your description has really helped here. I kept trying the "Add" rather than "Insert" button. I have discovered the bug and managed to fix it. It will be correct in 2.28. Thanks Sigurd. This is helpful. I also had a message from another Norwegian user that helped out. I have sent messages to those responsible to make the corrections needed. I tried to use the global search feature to search for events in a specific year, marking "date" under "Events" in the selection dialogue box. The search, however, told me it was "searching misc data" and not surprisingly returned a nil response. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? -- Linda Sutherland linda.sutherland@zetnet.co.uk
Is it old hat to mention that the realationship calculator shows half-sisters or half-brothers as sisters or brothers even though they have only one common blood parent? Peter
