Is there an alternative, such as Alt+something? Try Ctrl+A. That works in other Windows applications and don't see why it won't work in CFT. Just for general info: Ctrl+A=Select All (SELECT ALL) Ctrl+Single-Left-Mouse-Lick(arrow outside text margin)=Highlight sentence (SELECT ALL) Ctrl+C=Copy highlighted text to clipboard (COPY) Ctrl+V=Paste from clipboard to where the cursor is in the document (PASTE) Ctrl+X=Copy highlighted text to clipboard and delete from document (CUT) Shift+End=Highlight from cursor at the beginning of a sentence to the end of the sentence Single-Left-Mouse-Lick(arrow outside text margin)=Highlight sentence Shift+Home=Highlight from cursor at the end of a sentence to the beginning of the sentence Ctrl+Shift+End=Highlight text from cursor to end of document Ctrl+Shift+Home=Highlight text from cursor to start of document Double-Left-Mouse-Click On A Word=Highlight the word SgtGeorge

    3. Ira - I deleted the data base I had these problems with and imported it again. I think there was some corruption in the other one. None of the notes came through. The new import brought all of the notes. I can now get the story, but only the notes appear in the story. I still get the same error messages but only when I am the Key Ind. I am number one and the family group heets always starts with me. After the second error message, if I click Ignore - Everything seems to work OK except for the Story Tab. When I make my wife the Key Ind. the Story starts out with "Betty and Ed had the following children:" and lists the children and then goes on only with the notes - no events. Every body else that I made the Key Ind and clicked Story tab - I got notes only in the story with one exception - It listed the persons name and then "Parents of - and lists the parents and then goes on with notes only - no events. I can use the notes fine - change fonts, sizes and color etc. Ed Blakeley At 06:21 PM 10/29/1998 -0600, you wrote: >the code 1-3979 will help me. 3. In Notes, there does not appear to be any Select All function for edit. In v.2, one can right click in the Notes window to perform a Select All, but not in v.3. Instead, one has to highlight the entire area, which in some cases can be quite long. Is there an alternative, such as Alt+something? 1. Sources - Documents
    2. Petr Krouzek
    3. I like very much the two-level Source Editor. But do not understand, why the Document Editor remains one level. I think that two-level Document Editor would be at least as useful. (Just for example: Parochial Birth Register - almost always you get information about several persons from one volume which covers tens of years. Than it is necessary put every every foliant as separate document - but they are in fact in one volume, which is archived as one item. The two-level document editor would solve that.) May be I do not understand difference between sources and documents? Maybe the example above is Source? If so, can anybody explain to me what are documents and what are sources? Thank you. Ira, maybe you should give us some instruction how to put data into source editor in ver.2 to be than converted into ver.3 two-level editor? (Similar as I asked about Places - Addresses). Thank you Petr Krouzek http://www.glasnet.ru/~petrkrouzek/

I then tried various Options -> Story and still nothing until I changed the FONT for Main Text. Then the FONT used for all Text in the "basic" window under the Icons all changed to BOLD that I had selected. Hope this helps? HURU, Mike

Yes > Do you not even get the person's name and parents, etc. No The ONLY information the Story retrieves is the info tagged to the note icon in the Family Group window and this info is what was entered as a note for the individual. Even though there are numerous notes entered for this person in the different events windows, story did not retrieve these notes. No icon, I get a blank window with a short line about 1/2 inch long in the top left corner and a line across the bottom. Jerry Port Coquitlam B.C. Maybe Ver 3 works with NT 3. 2.32 works well on the system where I tested it (NTrigue 3.0, based on Citrix Winframe technology.....and based on NT 3.51). Usually, software that works on Winframe-based systems also work on NT 3.51 systems (Winframe *is* a NT 3.51 kernel). I even verified the proper operation of printing, which means that Lund fonts properly installed. On the other hand, CFT does not work on the second fastest growing operationg system of the world : Linux...:-). I'm still forced to keep a dedicated Windoze partition just for using CFT. But I know you already stated that a port would be difficult for you...and I understand this... --

    1. New Ver 2.50 Available (unformatted message)
    2. Ira J. Lund
    3. New Update - Version 2.50 (Updated October 27, 1998) This is for 32-bit only - Windows95/98/NT. An upgrade is also available. * New Programming Environment: Upgraded to Clarion 4b from older CW2 programming environment. Not certain what effect this will have for users. * Larger installation: Now including system DLLs that were normally downloaded from the internet. This causes installation routine to take three (3) 1.44Megabyte diskettes, rather than two as previously distributed. * Updated language: Afrikaans. * Place Name Report: Added new feature to reverse place names. In prior version place name report was printed with place names reversed (country, county, city). Now you have the option to print as-entered (city, county, state/country) or reversed (state/country, county, city). * Accented characters: Entry of accented characters in place name, misc data or sources would inadvertantly cause extra partial entries in the place, misc data, or source list. This has been fixed. * Merge and Split Databases: Corrections have been made to the way photos/images are handled during a split or merge of databases. In Split Databases no images are copied to the new database directory. Instead, the Database Configuration is made to point to the same image directory as the old database. In the Database Merge a new directory called PICS is created inside the new merged database directory. All used images from the two original databases are copied to the new PICS directory.
